Our goal is to help others find peace of mind from mental health problems and the extreme stress that sometimes comes with life. If you have any suggestions or questions about our services, please let us know!

Services

Dr. Silva & Associates PSC includes a Licensed Psychiatrist, two Licensed Clinical Social Workers, a Psychologist, and support staff. Services include an evaluation of the person and presenting problem and a plan of treatment based on the patient’s needs. It is important to all our staff to listen to the concerns of our patients. Services provided:

Pharmacotherapy

As our understanding of the brain and body increases, medications for treatment have become more complicated. When patients are taking medications from other physicians, prescribing practices need to be careful. Dr. Silva is a Board Certified and Licensed Psychiatrist. His longevity in the medical community means he is familiar with other area physicians and he is willing to communicate patient needs with his fellow physicians.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process of exploring the conflicts we have not only within ourselves, but with others and the world around us. The process of psychotherapy includes actively listening to the patient’s concerns and issues in a confidential manner. Education tailored to each person’s needs and assistance exploring issues for new thinking or better solutions is often the goal of psychotherapy.

Psychological Assessment

Psychological services include assessment of cognitive, intellectual, achievement, social, emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and personality issues. Assessments are designed to describe, explain, or make predictions regarding the patient’s presenting problem and often include remedial recommendations. Examples of assessments provided include:

  • Determination of DSM-V diagnosis
  • bariatric (weight loss) surgery
  • Evaluation of dementia, including Alzheimer’s dementia
  • Career Assessment
